During the Winter Break children are off from school, but that does not mean that parents will be able to be home to watch the kids.   There are several camps throughout the Tampa Bay, Florida that provide a safe place for their children to be while parents  have to work.  Some these Winter Break Camps are the same places where there are Summer Break Camps, and Spring Break Camps. 

Hillsborough County Winter Break Camps

Tampa Winter Break Camps

City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department

City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department has camps throughout the school when children are out of school.  You can register at a recreational center close to you.  The winter break camps are two weeks:  December 21st to December 23rd and December 28th to December 31st.    These camps are for K5 kids to 14 year-olds.   Camps run from 7 am to 6 pm.  You can visit the city of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department web site  to find a location close to your home or work. 

Lowry Park Zoo Winter Vacation Camp

Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa also has camp for winter vacation.  You can register for the camp by going to the Lowry Park Zoo web site.

MOSI Winter Break Camp

You can register your child for MOSI’s winter break camp on the MOSI camp website.

Florida Aquarium Winter Break Camp

The Florida Aquarium in downtown Tampa has camps during the school breaks throughout the year.  Visit the Florida Aquarium web site to register for their winter break camp.

Temple Terrace Winter Vacation Camp

Temple Terrace Rec Center Winter Break Camp

Dec. 21-23 and Dec. 28-30, 2009
Students from kindergarten through 8th grade will enjoy games, sports, movies and arts & crafts each day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Cost per participant is $110 until Nov. 23, when late registration begins and the cost goes up to $135. Participants should bring a non-refrigerated lunch and two snacks per day. Temple Terrace Recreation Center web site.

Shane's Fit Club provides:
 -  Before / After school program for kids attending Safety Harbor middle school. Kids can be dropped off at my Dojo anytime after 7:30 am and be picked up anytime before 6:00 pm: Only $55 / week!
 -  Day camps for all children ages 6-12 during all school breaks: $25 / day or $95 for the entire week.
 -  Summer camp for all children ages 6-12: $25 / day or $95 for the entire week.

Shane's Fit Club is a place where your child will participate in fitness classes, self-defense classes and have fun in a safe environment while focusing on Integrity, Honor, Respect, Self Confidence, and Discipline.

Winter Break Horsemanship Camp

DATES: Nov 23 - 25 from 9am till 3pm  $125.00
DATES: Dec 21-23 from 9am till 3pm $125.00  
DATES:  Dec 28 - 31 from 9am till 3pm $175.00
Ages 7 to 16
The Horsemanship Camp will teach horse care and basic riding!  New campers will learn how to control the horse on the ground and in the saddle.  We will learn about horse health care.  Children will ride both English and Western.  We will negoitate obstacles in the trail course.  In this camp we will strive to move your riding skills up a level.  Space is limited we will sign up no more than 8 campers.
