According to data provided by the city of Tampa Solid Waste Department, about 60% of the items thrown into the trash are compostable.
City of Tampa residents can attend a virtual workshop that will teach them about composting items. After completing the workshop and signing a waiver attendees are eligible to receive a composting bin and a composting bucket.
Those that live in New Tampa or Unincorporated areas of Hillsborough are eligible for the program.
