Pinellas County Schools Shorten Students Weeks and Eliminates Bus Routes For Next School Year
Categories: Pinellas County, education
There will be some changes in the Pinellas County School schedule next year. One difference is that Wednesdays will be shorter next school year. Students will leave school earlier on Wednesdays and allow the teachers to have extra planning time. There will be 1 hour and 15 minutes of planning time given to teachers on Wednesdays. The time will be well appreciated by teachers. Teachers spend a lot of personal time grading assignments during their personal time.
If you know a teacher then you know that their personal time is not always their time because of the extra time they spend planning for the school day, and grading papers.
Pinellas County will also be adjusting the assignment of students in schools so that more students are closer to home. This will allow the elimination many of the bus routes.
These changes are for the 2009-2010 school year.
