Hillsborough County Schools will be giving most of their teachers a 2% pay increase. Those teachers that receive a salary at the top of the district’s pay scale will receive a $1,000 lump sum in place of the 2% pay increase. The pay increase was a part of contract approved by the Hillsborough County School Board. Several other items were approved of in the contract including changes to the school calendar. Students will have the whole week of Thanksgiving off and the last day of school has moved from June 10, 2011 to June 13, 2011.
The Thanksgiving week vacation is great for families that have to travel for Thanksgiving this year. I’m sure the teachers appreciate the pay increase and week vacation too.
