Pittsburgh is city of Champions

Pittsburgh is becoming the city of champions in 2009. The Steelers won the Super Bowl at Raymond James Stadium on February 1 and the Pittsburgh Penguins became champions of hockey on Friday night with a 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings. In fact, the Penguins became the first road team to win a game 7 in the championship series since 1979 when the Pittsburgh Pirates won game 7 of the World Series in Baltimore against the Orioles. It is unlikely the Pirates will win the World Series this year, but Pittsburgh fans will win the World Series this year, but Pittsburgh fans will likely celebrate the accomplishment of a hockey team that has struggled for years since Mario Lemieux led them to greatness with back to back Stanley Cups in the early nineties.
