The American Academy of Dermatologists’ website provides a free search of upcoming skin cancer screenings. You can find dermatologists that are doing screenings throughout the United States. Some of the screenings are done by appointment, but others will provide walk-up screenings. You can visit: http://www.aad.org/scs/search/default.aspx and search. Here is the link for the scheduled screenings in Florida: http://www.aad.org/scs/search/Default.aspx?city=&state=FL . Two skin cancer screening are already scheduled for the end of March: one at the Senior Fun Fest at the Coliseum in St. Petersburg on March 27th, and another at Wiregrass Mall in Wesley Chapel on March 24th.
Everyone living in the south should be regularly checked for skin cancer. My father had many removed throughout his lifetime, I am lucky enouigh not have found one yet, but always get checked to be sure.
