The Tampa Bay Lightning wants you to experience a little winter in July by hosting “Beat the Heat.” The event allows the public to skate for free on the ice at the St. Petersburg forum. You must bring your own skates because no skate rentals will be available for the event. During the event there will be appearances by ThunderBug(Lightning mascot, ),the Lightning Girls, and former Lightning players-Dave Andreychuck and Brian Bradley.

“Beat the Heat” will be Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 3-5 p.m.
