Brian Griese, a Former Buccaneers’ Quarterback?
Categories: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
What the future holds Brian Griese and the Tampa bay Buccaneers is uncertain. For years, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had a revolving door of quarterbacks and just because it is new season and a new coach, don’t expect that to change.
Bucs general manager Mark Dominik recently suggested to Pewter Report that Griese, 34, could wind up playing for Tampa Bay at some point should one of the other quarterbacks suffer an injury during the mandatory mini-camp.
“Brian Griese is obviously under contract with us,” Dominik said. “Everything we do is strictly voluntary, so it’s his decision that he didn’t want to participate. But at the same point, I don’t take the quarterback position lightly. I was here when Luke McCown went down in OTAs with an ACL tear a few years ago. Until it’s a necessity, we won’t make a decision yet on which four go to camp with us.”
Bucs head coach Raheem Morris said that he wished to keep conversations between he and Griese private, and Ralph Cindrich, who serves as Griese’s agent, told Pewter Report he was not sure what the future held for Griese in Tampa Bay.
