Texting Between Teachers and Students

Several cases in the news recently include teachers being arrested for being inappropriate with students. Many of the teachers exchanged text messages with the student victims. Most recently a male teacher was exchanging text messages with a 16 year-old student. The student also sent nude pictures of herself to the teacher.

Technology has expanded the way that sexual predators do come in contact with children. The issue is how much monitoring of the cell phone and computer parents actually do and how much is really necessary. We all want our kids to feel that we trust them, but we also need to be parents and vigilant of their activities. At a young age teens can feel all grown up and think that there is nothing wrong, but as adults it is our job to watch over them and guard them and that includes monitoring their use of the computer and cell phones.

Brett Favre Playing for Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Brett Favre may be coming to play for Tampa Bay, but I still have mixed feelings. On one hand he has a good record, but on the other hand how long does he have left to play. 38 is by no means old for a man, and he does still have some game. But for football, 38 is a little old.

The Buccaneers have had several starting quarterbacks in the last few seasons and having a new quarterback starting is nothing new.

  • 2001, 2002, 2003 Brad Johnson was the starting quarterback.
  • 2004 Brian Griese
  • 2005 Chris Simms
  • 2006 Bruce Gradkowski
  • 2007 Jeff Garcia

Before the Brett Favre controversy and circus it seemed that Jeff Garcia would wind up as the starting quarter back this year. Changing quarterbacks is nothing new to the Buccaneers.

Exercising just 30 Minutes a day is just not enough to cut ALL the fat.

A new study reported that to really lose weight a person needs to exercise 55 minutes a day 5 days out of the week. For many people that have been exercising for 30 minutes a few times a week and see no results this study’s findings might now reveal why.

To others who wonder how on Earth they are going to exercise almost an hour a day for most of the week, I am wondering the same exact thing. But along with exercise, nutrition does also pay a major part in weight loss. Losing weight with nutritional and low calorie meals is possible even if you cannot get in as much exercise as you need.

Some tips to add a few minutes of exercise here and there to your day are:

  • Park far away from the entrance or store that you are going into.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Take a few breaks for your desk during the day to stretch your legs.
  • If you take kids to practice or classes during the evening, take a walk when the kids are practicing.
