Tropical Depression Ana has Become Disorganized

Hurricane Bill has become the first hurricane for the 2009 Atlantic hurricane season. It is expected to strengthen and become a major hurricane with at least 110 mph by Tuesday. At the last hurricane advisory from the National Hurricane Center at 11 am, Bill had maximum sustained winds of 90 mph. Bill is moving West-Northwestward and is expected to curve more toward the north so it will avoid most land and stay far away from the United States.

Tropical Depression Ana is currently bringing a lot of rain to Puerto Rico, but forecasters are expecting it to make landfall on the west coast of Florida later this week. Ana is not expected to go through any major strengthening and remain a depression. All of Tampa Bay and the majority of the state are in the 3-day forecast cone. The Entire state is in the 5 –day forecast cone.

Tropical Storm Claudette became the first Tropical disturbance to make landfall this hurricane season. The National Hurricane center says that the center of Claudette made landfall near the eastern end of Santa Rosa Island, just south of Fort Walton Beach.
