Watermelon Swim – Lutz offers year-round, indoor swim lessons for all ages and abilities, from infants (Water Babies and Parent-Tot programs) through adults, including specialized classes for swimmers with disabilities. All instructors are CPR/First Aid and lifeguard certified, complete over 100 hours of initial training plus ongoing continuing education, and maintain low student-to-teacher ratios to ensure personalized attention and a strong focus on water safety and skill development. The facility features two heated indoor pools (water 88–91 °F, air 86 °F), two-way glass viewing, dehumidification, advanced filtration, and 24-hour chemical monitoring—classes aren’t canceled for thunder or lightning.

Programs include Water Babies (0–6 months), Parent-Tot 1 & 2 (6 months–2 years), Learn to Swim Levels 1–6 (18 months & up), Age 7 & Up classes, private lessons, swim team training, adult lessons, and options for individuals with disabilities. Lessons follow a monthly membership plan (with an annual family membership fee) and offer discounts for multiple family members or additional weekly sessions.

Watermelon Swim’s mission is to build a community of safer swimmers in Lutz by teaching skills that reduce safety risks and boost confidence in and around water. They also offer free water-safety education presentations (20–30 minutes) for local daycares, schools, or after-school programs.
