Drew Brees and New Orleans Saints –Building Together

Drew Brees, quarterback of the New Orleans Saints will lead his team against the Indianapolis Colts tonight in the Super Bowl. This story started over four years ago when Brees was injured in his last game for the San Diego Chargers. The only team that gave Brees a chance was the New Orleans Saints. The Saints were reaching out to Brees as New Orleans was recovering from Hurricane Katrina. Brees led the Saints to an emotional win in the first game at the Super Dome since Katrina on September 25, 2006. The Saints made it to the NFC Championship game that season, but fell one game short of making it to the Super Bowl. Brees has put up big numbers since 2006, but nothing will compare to the thrill of bringing a Super Bowl championship to a hurting city. Brees moved to New Orleans a few years ago and feel like he is part of the community that has embraced him over the years. He is on a mission to make New Orleans football relevant. Brees hopes to complete the mission this evening in Miami.
